Welcome to the Jim Acosta Morning Memo on a Monday morning after another desperate round of Trump rallies, another round of defiant “No Kings” protests, CBS gave JD Vance an absurd showcase that blew up in his face, the world’s Bond villains planned a get-together, and more.
BYEEEE: Leading off, Trump went into the weekend with this ice-cold dismissal of Katie Zacharia after less than half a Scaramucci. This is what he said to reporters minutes before her firing was announced.
And as we predicted Friday morning, it turned out that Zacharia’s disastrous Hannity interview was greenlit from on high, reportedly by Susie Wiles — but we think it’s obvious where it really came from.
Starlink Wars: At that same gaggle, just hours before he signed an executive order lifting sanctions on Russia that were just recently imposed in honor of Lindsey Graham, Trump was confronted over the Starlink failure and blurted out this whopper.
Say it with me one more time, folks. Sure, Jan!
Puppet Mastered: And in what would have been a surreal scene in the before times, another reporter had to remind Trump who started the war. Ever the conman, Trump just made up secret quote “details” that he’ll be sharing any day now.
Is one of those details Vladimir Putin with his hand up your puppet-hole?
The Man Show: Then it was on to Georgia, where Trump continued his obsessive gushing about men as he told the crowd he doesn’t find Jon Ossoff attractive, but his opponent is “all man.”
Maybe He’s Born With It: Trump also attacked Ossoff for, get this, wearing makeup. But even Trump was forced to admit he wears makeup too, albeit with this feeble caveat.
TRUMP: Jon Ossoff has spent more money on makeup.
And by the way, I wear very little and I do it myself. Yeah. Because if you don’t put a little on, you look a little bit like a dead person. And I don’t want to look that way.
‘Covering Up Sex Trafficking’: Ossoff, for his part, slammed Trump this weekend over the violence at his rallies, as well as the Epstein cover-up.
They lied us into war and spent most of the last year covering up for the world’s most famous pedophile.
At a rally earlier this week in Ohio, the president egged on supporters who assaulted a woman demanding the release of the Epstein files. Did you see that?
Because if you can count on one thing about this White House, it’s their tireless commitments to war, inflation and covering up sex trafficking.
