Hi Gloria - Scott Macfarlane reported this morning that on Friday, a group of hundreds of Kennedy Center supporters are gathering outside of the facility for a rally against the Trump takeover and closure of the facility. Wish I lived closer and could join them.

Trump is UNSERIOUS about the USA presidency. Meanwhile, many Americans are struggling to pay for gas and other basic necessities. I pray every day that this regime will be crushed at the ballot box; I also pray that if our democracy wins, the democratic leadership will aggressively go after Trump and his cabinet. However, I have serious reservations about Jeffries and Schumer being the fierce fighters we need in Congress after the midterms.
I’m not surprised, but I think he absolutely must not have his name on that building. If it’s shutter for two years and we have to bring it back so be it that he cannot emboss that national prize with his name he ruined it. He made this happen.
He will not be happy until he has destroyed every historical building and memorial in DC. I expect that any day, he will order the destruction of the obelisk, because it's "dangerous," and will take jackhammers to Lincoln's statue to replace it with his own.
I think this doesn’t have anything to do with the Kennedy Family, they don’t really have any say in the matter, it’s a memorial to RFK and therefore its only about him.
Thank you, Jim. This is terrible. A question: Trump fired the original Kennedy Center Board (including Rep. Joyce Beatty). He then appointed loyalists as the new Board members (the list is eye-popping) and had himself elected as Chair. In what world is this legal?
The next thing that will happen is that the Board will all resign, which in is a good outcome. The legal system has taken the right position, and this will continue to unfold. Your Kennedy Centre will come back to the people and the artists. It will just take more time. The mid-terms are in November. Sending positive vibes from Canada!
