It has become a cliché in the Trump era, but it’s still hard to believe the speed at which time passes when you’re trying to keep track of Donald Trump’s daily and hourly outrages.
Trump started out the week dismissing the sacrifices of 18 American heroes as “small potatoes,” but it seems like it was months ago.
Here are this week’s JAMM Daily Updates.
Tuesday: Trump went into the long weekend with a gaffe that would be nearly forgotten by the end of this week, as would his 25th Amendment-worthy social media binge.
Wednesday: We covered Trump’s bonkers new 9/11 whoppers and the new Natalie Harp bombshell, as well as the continued skyrocketing of fuel prices.
Thursday: Trump-a-palooza and Trump’s desperate $5,000 bribe, plus a new First Amendment assault courtesy of Trump and Brendan Carr.
Since Friday was the 25th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, we skipped the Daily Update so that we could cover the remembrances live and share with our friends our own thoughts and memories of that day.
So instead, I will leave you with an emotional and hopeful commentary from Jim Acosta at the end of our special coverage.
But I think about those moments, large and small, after 9/11.
As I said earlier on the show, I remember being a young reporter and being around Ground Zero and seeing the pictures of people that had been taped up onto ATM machines and lamp posts of their loved ones, with a note: “If you’ve seen this person, if you have any information, please contact me or my family.”
This was the kind of moment that we were all living through. And at that time, we saw our leaders come together, Democrat and Republican. We saw the nation rallying around New York and around Washington, D.C., and around Shanksville.
I remember doing a story after 9/11 for CBS. I went down to Louisiana. I did a story about a fire department down there that was building a fire truck to deliver to New York.
I think about that. These people in the South — people in what we now call a red state — helping people in a blue state.
I will defy anybody who will sit there and insist cynically that we can’t be that country again. I defy that. I disagree with that very strongly.

Thank you for your heartfelt memories dating back 25 years ago to this horrific event.
Fast forward, and we now have a regime that puts personal enrichment ahead of the people they are supposed to represent. Remember it was the Saudis who were the pilots of flew those planes. Now Kushner is a "negotiating" peace deals with Iran, but his main goal is to further enrich himself. No experience as a negotiator, just connections to Don the Con.
