Welcome to the Jim Acosta Morning Memo on a Friday morning after Trump banned the press from another super-important event about his number one issue: ugly-ass renovations.
Pull up to the coffee bar and let’s get to it!
Ban Rolls On: As Republicans pick through the rubble of the midterms, Trump is back to his old tricks, banning CNN from the press pool on Thursday as he held a photo op in the Oval Office. Print pooler S.V. Dáte noted the ban by writing quote “Be advised that there is no TV pool today because it is CNN’s turn and the president is mad at them.”
Good morning from the White House, where it is cloudy, unseasonably warm and humid.
The president has no events on his schedule that are open to the press pool. Will advise if we are brought in to a policy briefing or “signing time” or an announced construction or remodeling inspection.
Be advised that there is no TV pool today because it is CNN’s turn and the president is mad at them.
As of 0958, there is no Marine posted outside the West Wing.

As a result, there was no television pool coverage of the event, only a White House live feed. Trump will continue his assault on the press for as long as they allow him to.
Monumental Waste: The event itself was thrown together so that Trump could sign a proclamation protecting all of his Saddam Hussein’s Cheesecake Factory decorations.
A couple of things jump out here. First of all, the only people in history to demolish parts of the White House are Donald Trump and the Redcoats.
And one reporter pointed out a flaw in Trump’s golden witless protection program.
He can do whatever he wants.
That issue is actually not decided, but ironically, Trump’s own Justice Department issued an opinion last year arguing that any president can undo exactly this sort of designation.
Can’t wait to see a Democratic president use that citation in court as they pry gold-painted garbage off the walls.
