Jim Acosta called Donald Trump out over his “obsession” with adding his name to the Kennedy Center as the battle over the institution took some new turns, and the Jim Acosta Show captured exclusive reporting on the Center.
This is what the Kennedy Center looked like when we went down there today, as it has been completely blocked off and a new sign proclaims a supposed “Emergence Alert.”
The fight over the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has raged ever since Trump’s hostile takeover of the board when he retook office, but really escalated when he added his name to the building — and a judge ordered it removed.
We were there for that, and we were there yesterday after Trump’s hand-picked board voted to close the Kennedy Center immediately, on the heels of that same judge’s latest order keeping Trump’s name off of the building.
Following that vote, Trump fired off a tantrum and an ultimatum on social media:
The Board of The Kennedy Center today agreed, almost unanimously, to close the Building for Safety reasons, and so that it can begin the process of Reconstruction. The closing will take place immediately, however, the Renovation and Reconstruction, which is a very large and complex job, cannot begin until such time as the D.C. Circuit rules on the Board’s approved name. If the ruling is a negative one, which it should not be, and is not overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Reconstruction and the Renovation of The Kennedy Center will not take place. The attorneys from the DOJ will ask for an expedited appeal. In the meantime, 17 Million Dollars, raised by President Trump, has been put into The Kennedy Center account to keep it afloat. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
On Tuesday’s show, Acosta tore into Trump in a blistering commentary calling for Trump’s removal from office on 25th Amendment grounds.
Somebody who is this obsessed with putting his name on the Kennedy Center isn’t well. He’s not normal. He’s out of his mind.
And until we as a country deal with that — and I know the Republicans, I talk to them from time to time, and the Republicans up on Capitol Hill, they know this. They know this deep down in their bones. They won’t talk about it in front of the cameras.
The brainwashed ones, we know they’re not. The stupid ones, we know they’re not gonna say it. But the ones with half a brain, who haven’t completely sold their souls, they know deep down he’s disturbed.
He’s an unhinged, disturbed individual, and there is no other conclusion to draw when he is this obsessed with putting his name on the Kennedy Center.
And so to me, it is a Twenty-Fifth Amendment crisis that we are facing right now, and that is what makes the Kennedy Center insanity so important.
We went down to the Kennedy Center after the vote Tuesday and spoke exclusively to Americans who were not pleased about the closure. One young man, a college student, called the closure “ridiculous” and Trump a wannabe “dictator.”
Yeah, I think this is absolutely ridiculous and is only because Trump is a narcissist and wanted to basically act like a dictator by slapping his name on the front of the building, which is something that is unprecedented for an American president to do.
And one woman told us that the board knew it was an “illegal vote,” but “They went right ahead and did it anyway for their audience of one.”
Our sources inside the Kennedy Center called BS on the claim that the “emergency” closure was necessary, telling us “The roof is flat and plaster. Buildings that are soaked with the torrential rainfall DC experienced almost two weeks ago can incur water damage. It’s an easy fix, and I believe they’re choosing not to fix it.”
Another source gave us the inside scoop on the board meeting, which turned into a brawl between Trump and Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) — the last non-MAGAfied board member.
Rep. Beatty later confirmed our report and gave her inside account of her confrontation with Trump in an interview with MS NOW.
Well, we were in court right before we went into the board meeting, so they opened up the board meeting by informing the board that we had again — Beatty v. Trump — Beatty had been victorious.
And he went into a tantrum. I mean, let me just make it simple. It was the most unprofessional thing that I’ve ever witnessed or been a part of.
He went into name-calling from everything, from trying to say that I was an obstructionist, I was dumb. He said, “I think you’re incompetent,” and I said, “I know you’re incompetent.”
It was — and I looked to the chair, who was chairing the meeting, and I said, “Are we really gonna do this? This is unprofessional.” But I wasn’t going to let him call me awful things.
And he said he was gonna hold me responsible if something fell out of the ceiling and killed someone. And I told him, I said, “You’re already killing people. We’re at war. We also have people who are starving. You’re doing this.”
And then he wanted to talk about how great he was with developing, and he didn’t know anything about me, but I had never done anything. This was the biggest thing I had done.
So I reminded him that he had more bankruptcies than anybody. I mean, it really went there, because I wasn’t going to let him — he was there in his role as chairman of the board — I wasn’t going to let him bully me, intimidate me, and the facts stand for themselves.
At this hour, the building remains fenced off and under guard. We will continue to cover this story, and update you on any new developments.

Way to go Rep Beatty!!! Don’t let that disgusting POS call you names! And for her to come back and throw the truth in his face!!! Love her!!!
Trumpler is insane and we (at least enough of us propagandized rubes) are enabling him.
This is America’s “1930’a Germany moment.”
So far, we have been failing to the horror of our former friends around the world.
